The University of South Carolina Upstate Police Department is offering a self-defense class to interested women. This course, Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.), is the largest women’s self-defense program in the country. It offers no-nonsense, practical techniques for women of all ages and abilities. The course is designed to give the participants realistic and dynamic hands-on training. The course is taught by certified R.A.D. instructors from the USC Upstate Police Department, Officer Kimberly Holupka and Corporal Roger Suber. There is no cost for the program and class size will be limited to 20. Classes will start at 6:00 p.m. and end no later than 9:00 p.m. on the following dates: September 22, 23, and 25; October 20, 21, and 23; and November 17, 18, and 20. The location of the class will be forthcoming.
