Clayton Construction Company, a leading commercial general contractor based in the Upstate of South Carolina, has announced that they will move their corporate headquarters to 316 West Main Street in downtown Spartanburg.

The building, formerly occupied by Event Rentals, was originally constructed by Clayton Construction, adding another layer of significance to the move.

McMillan Pazdan Smith has designed the space, reflecting on Clayton Construction’s vision and future growth. In addition, Young Office has played a key role in furnishing the new headquarters, ensuring that the interior spaces are not only functional but also aligned with the company’s aesthetic and operational needs.

Clayton Construction Company, founded by Wren and Sophie Clayton, has called Spartanburg home since 1981. “We are proud of our continued growth and could not be more excited to be moving our corporate headquarters downtown” said Todd Horne, President of Clayton Construction Company. “West Main Street is a key corridor into our city and our team is thrilled to be a part of this area’s revitalization.”

This strategic move scheduled for early 2025 shows Clayton Construction’s commitment to contributing to the economic and cultural vibrancy of Spartanburg. The new downtown location will enhance collaboration with local partners, provide a central hub for operations, and strengthen ties with the community.
