The Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce and Wells Fargo are pleased to host Shred Day on Friday, June 5th, which is also World Environment Day.
The Shred-It truck will be located on-site at the Spartanburg Chamber and Wells Fargo parking lot from 11:30 am until 2:30 pm. Those bringing materials to be shredded will follow a drive-through line to drop off their boxes or bags.
According to Shred-It: “Each person generates 6.4 lbs. of garbage every day [and] businesses are looking at more sustainable practices that won’t compromise privacy protection. Recycling paper after it has been securely shredded is also one way to reduce a corporation’s environmental footprint.” Shredding not only reduces environmental impact, but also helps large and small businesses comply with privacy laws, aids in the prevention of identity theft, and minimizes risks of security breach.
Each car is limited to a maximum of four (4) boxes or bags. Paper clips, staples, binder clips, and thin spiral bindings do not have to be removed, but three-ring binders cannot be accepted.
The Spartanburg Chamber Area Chamber of Commerce is located beside Wells Fargo at 105 North Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302. The shared parking lot is behind both buildings, which is accessible from Oakland Avenue.
