Show synopsis: Thrilling, gut-wrenching and awe-inspiring, the Tony-nominated musical The Civil War commemorates the 150 year anniversary of the end of one of the greatest conflicts in American history and explores the experiences of the soldiers and leaders who fought for their way of life. It also examines the lives of the lovers and families they left behind, as well as the hopes and fears of the slaves whose freedom was at stake. Drawing from the American musical genres of rock, country, gospel, folk, and rhythm and blues, The Civil War passionately asks us to consider our beliefs about freedom, honor and faith.
