Women Giving for Spartanburg Announces 2015 Open Grant Cycle

Women Giving for Spartanburg (WGFS) kicks off another year of giving by now accepting grant requests for its 2015 Grant Cycle. This marks the eighth year of giving for the initiative.

“I am amazed at the fabulous nonprofits in our community, working in the trenches day and night, to positively move the needle in the critical areas of our Community Indicators. It is a privilege and honor for Women Giving to provide these nonprofits with the grant opportunities to accomplish creative and impactful ways of making a difference in Spartanburg County,” said Cathy McCabe, Chair of WGFS. “Under the leadership of Grants Chair Elizabeth Joyce, the Grants Committee, as the heart and soul of Women Giving, spends untold hours on reviewing grant proposals and ultimately providing to its membership a ballot of finalists.”

Members of WGFS vote each year to award high-impact grants of $25,000 and above to nonprofit organizations serving Spartanburg County. Following suit of last year’s grant cycle, there will be a grant awarded in each Indicator Area as outlined by The Spartanburg Community Indicators Project. Women Giving for Spartanburg encourages all nonprofit organizations to apply for a grant by visiting www.womengivingforspartanburg.org and completing an online application.
