Shoestring Players Present Neil Simon’s “Rumors”

The USC Upstate Shoestring Players will perform Neil Simon’s “Rumors” in the Humanities and Performing Arts Center. Performances will be held at 8 p.m. Nov. 13-15 and 3 p.m. Nov. 16.

“Rumors” follows a group of New York socialites attending a 10th anniversary for the deputy mayor of New York Charley Brock and his wife, Myra. It’s a dinner party gone awry, when the guests learn the host has shot himself, his wife is missing and the kitchen staff has disappeared.
“This show is a high octane farce that promises a super, swift roller coaster ride of laughs from the beginning to the end,” said director Lee Neibert, assistant professor of theatre.

The cast includes: Stephanie Ibbotson of Greer, Chandler Crawford of Rock Hill, Jordyn Chelf of Duluth, Minn., Chris Smith of Goose Creek, Juan Williamson of Bogota, Colombia, Maria Williamson of Bogota, Colombia, Jasmine Johnson of Hartsville, Ryan Barry of Spartanburg, Raheem Hughes of Lancaster and Kathleen Barnes of Hazel Green, Ala.

Ticket prices are $8 for general public and $4 for USC Upstate students, faculty, and staff.

For tickets, please contact the Performing Arts Center Box Office at (864) 503-5695 or email your ticket requests to [email protected]. Box Office hours are from 1-5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
