Nonprofit Academy Among First Classes Offered at SCC’s Cherokee County Campus


Beginning in April, the first classes in Spartanburg Community College’s Continuing Education Division will begin at the College’s Cherokee County Campus, and among them will be a series of six nonprofit education classes designed to help nonprofit leaders become more efficient in delivering their organization’s services.

Dubbed the Nonprofit Academy, classes will cover topics vital to the success of any nonprofit organization including basic nonprofit structure, the board of directors, organizational planning and development, media relations, fundraising and volunteer recruitment and management.

The Cherokee County Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Foundation For The Carolinas, will provide financial assistance covering fifty percent of the course tuition fees for Cherokee County nonprofit staff and board members interested in attending the program.
