Hospital Sends Out Braille Holiday Cards Created by SC School for the Deaf and the Blind Student

Black Health System is sending out a unique holiday card to its friends and associates this year. The artwork on the card was created by a student at the South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind.

The card includes a holiday message typed in print and in Braille. MBHS partnered with The Walker Foundation at SCSDB to hold a contest among the school’s art students to design the cover artwork.

On Tuesday, December 16th at 1 p.m. the winning student artist and the five finalists will be presented with award certificates and $50 gift cards. The prizes were funded by the Mary Black Auxiliary Volunteers, a non-profit organization of MBHS volunteers, who will be present to participate in the award ceremony.

The ceremony will be held in the Art Classroom of the SCSDB, located at 355 Cedar Springs Road in Spartanburg.
