A Conversation with Spartanburg Medical Center President Phil Feisal

It’s been an incredibly important part of our community for over 90 years, and recently Spartanburg Medical Center was named the number one hospital in South Carolina.

The ranking was given by U.S. News & World Report, earning high performance rankings in nine specialty areas: cardiology and heart surgery; diabetes and endocrinology; gastroenterology and GI surgery; geriatrics; nephrology; neurology and neurosurgery; orthopedics; pulmonology; and urology.

Not content to rest on those accomplishments, the hospital also recently announced plans for a new entrance on Church Street, replacing the oldest building of the hospital complex to make the center easier to navigate. That project is just one piece of a long-term plan that will include significant new capital investments on the main campus as well as at the hospital system’s burgeoning Pelham Medical Center.

Today on the podcast, we sit down with Spartanburg Medical Center President Phil Feisal about those topics and about how crucial Spartanburg Regional’s position is in the Spartanburg community. Listen below, and be sure to check out part two of our conversation next week to get Feisal’s take on the Northside Initiative.
