Artisan Centers Accepting New Artists

For the 15th year, Carolina Foothills Artisan Centers are accepting artists’ applications now through August 22, 2014.

The Centers currently exhibit works from approximately 100 North and South Carolina artists and are located in two Upstate downtowns: Chesnee, near the intersection of SC Hwy 221 and Cherokee Foothills Scenic Hwy 11, and Landrum at 214 Rutherford St.

The mission of the Centers, which are non-profit entities, is to develop the educational, artistic, cultural and economic growth of the Upstate by providing a means for the artists of North and South Carolina and the foothills of Georgia to demonstrate the creative process and to showcase their works. The facilities also provide a venue for citizens to learn about and purchase the work of the artists.

Artists who wish to apply for representation may request the current rules and application by email at [email protected]. For questions, please call Executive Director Laura M. Ballenger at (864) 461-3050 or email at [email protected].

The deadline for submissions is August 22, 2014. Artists will be notified of acceptance no later than August 29, 2014. The next scheduled Jury is April 2015.

Carolina Foothills Artisan Centers are funded in part by The Arts Partnership of Greater Spartanburg, its donors, the County and City of Spartanburg, and the South Carolina Arts Commission which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts and the USDA.
